Hawker Sea Hawk FGA.50 and 100 models: Details and Handling:

The Sea Hawk FGA.50 and 100 represent the Dutch and German Navy export fighter-ground-attack models for this series. Both types were fitted with the uprated RR Nene Mk.103 engine, supplying 5,200lb thrust, as an effort to provide extra power for the variety of payloads of increasing weight. Consequently, you may notice a subtle difference in handling between the armed versions of the FGA.50 and 100 and previous armed FGA/FB variants models.

Points of recognition for the FGA.50 include underwing payloads, lack of radio altimeter aerials under the tailplane and the inclusion of the small ram intake on the starboard forward fuselage. It also had fewer UHF radio aerial antennae on the fuselage spine and one solid, stub UHF blade nearer the rear fuselage. Armaments included the Philco-built AIM-9A Sidewinder on underwing pylons.

The main points of recognition for the FGA.100 are the 12% taller tail fin for improved lateral stability and radome blister on the rear upper fuselage. Other points include underwing payloads, lack of radio altimeter aerials under the tailplane and the inclusion of the small ram intake on the starboard forward fuselage. It also had fewer UHF radio aerial antennae on the fuselage spine and one solid, stub UHF blade nearer the rear fuselage. Armaments included the Philco-built Sidewinder AIM-9a on underwing pylons and increased droptank capability on outer wing pylons.
