Canberras of the Grupo 2 de Bombardeo: Technical Detail Photos

Marcelo Siri and Noe Leguizamon recently posted a series of photos on Facebook showing details of B-101 and B-109. Reference photos like these are always welcome, especially as I am thinking of creating new FS2004 models for the B.62 and T.64. What is fascinating to me is the quality and ingenuity involved in the local modifications. The addition of flare/chaff dispensors and forward and rear camera bays shows how seriously the FAA regarded the Canberra as an asset beyond its bomber capabilities. Adding a recon element undoubtedly increased the lifespan of the Argentine Canberra, in that it only fell short of the RAF retirement by six years, an impressive feat considering the lack of spares! Additionally, you can see how these camera bays closely resemble those of the PR.3/7 Canberra, showing that research into their RAF counterparts continued long after the post-Falklands weapons embargo.
