Canberras of the Grupo 2 de Bombardeo: Personnel and History

This section is dedicated to the courageous and hardworking crews and staff of Grupo 2 de Bombardeo. My intention is to interview, with the assistance of someone out there, former pilots and ground crew who might like to share their stories. It can be something as small as a short service memory of the group, something on the Canberra, or memories of a flight/mission, whether in peace or action.

Canberra B-109: A Case Study in Photos

Marcelo Siri recently sent me another superb set of photos, this time showing B-109, as seen in the Museo Aeronautico, in Morón. As can clearly be seen, B-109 is an excellent state of preservation; she is highly polished, and rightfully restored to her original NATO pattern markings and insignia. I find that especially impressive, considering the late-era low-viz scheme destroyed all trace of these markings, and to restore her in this way must have involved finding, or replicating, the original stencilling that would have been applied at BAC in Preston.

Canberra B.62 Technical Photos

Marcelo Siri and Noe Leguizamon recently posted a series of photos on Facebook showing details of B-101 and B-109. Please click here to view these in more detail. Reference photos like these are always welcome, especially as I am thinking of creating new FS2004 models for the B.62 and T.64.

Following my recent contact with Marcelo Siri, son of 1 Ten. Marcelo Siri, a former Canberra navigator and Falklands/Malvinas veteran. Marcelo himself is a teacher at the Escuela de Suboficiales de la Fuerza Aerea Argentina in Cordoba province, and keeps in regular contact with his late father's Grupo 2 comrades. It was through him that I have generously received many new and unique photos of Grupo 2 Canberras and crew, which I am proud to show below.
